Unable To get Format On Stream - message/error
Back to Main CSO Website

This is a problem with the video codec drivers from CC3 thru CC5.

The Infamous:

"Unable To get Format On Stream" message.

CC3 Fix

This is a very common problem with CC3 and most players will come across it at some point. There are a couple of soulutions, one is a work around the other fixes it for good. (I usually hear of this happening and in fact its happened to me after an uninstall of one of the CC series) Basically it means that MS mediaplayer is not working properly or is out of date or itīs "just" missing the INDEO codecs

WORK AROUND

Ok, you can disable the videos in the options dialog box, but this is just a work around. (Press CTRL after clicking on the shortcut for CCIII and hold it down until the options screen comes up. Uncheck the "Show videos" box)

FULL FIX

The best way to fix this is to install and update the INDEO codecs using the files below. Installing Windows Media Player will also fix this, but its a bloated download and will also take over your default mp3 player etc. So download the files below and you will find the problem fixed.

CSO Download (Intel Indeo Codec)

iv5setup.exe

CC4 CC5 Fix

Basically this is the same as above, nut its more likely that you will need to download the Win Media player to fix it.

WORK AROUND

Open up Windows Explorer and goto the CDROM, then to the folder /DATA/VIDEOS, just run any of those movies in that folder. Usually solves the problem. This may or may not solve the prob.

Again you can disable the videos in the options dialog box, but this is just a work around. (Press CTRL after clicking on the shortcut for CCIV or CCV and hold it down until the options screen comes up. Uncheck the "Show videos" box)

FULL FIX

The best way to fix this is to install the latest Windows Media Player. You can try the indeo codecs first which works for a lot of people.

MS Windows Media Player

Click Here to go to Microsoft© and download the latest version of Windows media Player (also the right version for your OS)
