You deleted my post

I think it is reasonable to expect an explanation? "Man... Twats" surely deserves a little more detail, such as a "reason"? What is 'twattish' about informing the Community that Simtek is dissolved which is all I have done? Is that wrong or offensive? If you can demonstrate my offense, then I will a...

Re: Happy Birthday Beebs!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for reminding me... I thought I might get away with it this year, but no, some bright spark(s) had to mention it!... Hope you are all keeping well. I don't get much time for CC nowadays (though I play the odd battle now and then for fun) as I'm trying to get a new enterprise goi...

Re: Battle HQ will not open

bhqreg.cmd is the Command file that Registers Controls used by BattleHQ with the Windows System, in this case OCX's and DLL's. It has to be under System32 because that is how BHQ handles the path, and having a folder BattleHQ is better than dumping it all in the System32 Folder! These Controls shoul...

Re: Need a new hard disk

The Maps will soak up everything you have got if you get carried away... :D

Just the Map Packs for CoI (never mind all the others) will take over 2GB and that's uncompressed....

Re: Mod error :(

Go to your Program Files\Close Combat\Close Combat III\Data\Campaign Folder, and remove the file "Assault on Europe". See if the OST or GD Mods will work then.

Re: MMCC3 - city map

I think he means the way that Maps are allocated to Sectors. The simplistic answer is that is the way it was set up. COuld they be done differently? Yes of course. Someone would have to create a new maps.txt file for the MMCCIII Server. If you are interested, the way MMCCIII Server allocated Maps to...

Re: Soldier color

Being an amateur programmer, I do wonder why they (CoI developers) did not export such settings to an external INI/Config file, it would be easy, I do it all the time. Hex editing the executables is a risky way of modding, and with every new version all offsets are changed completely Cost, time and...

Re: what do you think of COI?: reviews

I do believe the medals genrally get awarded step by step on the whole, I just don't know if there is a fixed dependency or not. I haven't taken much notice of this I will admit.

Re: what do you think of COI?: reviews

Yes, your Command (you) can be killed.

Those 3 forest maps are a real culutre shock! Armour down the middle or armour down the middle. Loads of choice! ;)

There's no dependency that I know of with medal acquisition.

Re: mods

That's why Simtek is updating mods as quickly as possible, considering that it is primarily being done by one guy. As more of the community starts lending a hand, the sooner all the CC3 mods will be out there.

Re: Its on sale now....

I realy do not understad WHY should I buy this game? Fair enough. You have read the feedback and are not convinced. My suggestion is that you do not buy the game. I don't think you are going to persudae the many more people who have bought and are enjoying the game otherwise, so what's the point? T...

Re: MMCC3 - network problems a dissapoinment

You will see ghost games from time to time. It's a timeout thing. If someone gets logged with the server to a Sector (e.g. to fight a battle), then if the connection is summarily dropped, it takes a while for the server to track this, and reset the Sector state.
