Monitor out of syncho...

Postby 454casull » Fri Apr 21, 2006 6:58 pm

Hello!
Has someone could give me a help? I'm trying to play CC3 but always when I run it my monitor shows this message... out of synchro bouncing on the screen.
I already disabled DirectX, reduced the hardware/video acceleration to null, check the game compatibility to Windows 98 (as I'm running on XP sp2 OS with a Nvidia GeForce 4800 Ti), reinstall all the game & patch, reinstalled the Indeo video codec and no success... has something else I could do to be back to the battlefield? %\

Thanks for any help!

All Close Combat run in 16bit colour, regardless of how you have set your desktop. CC will try to change the resolution when it starts, and that can sometimes cause problems.

To eliminate this as a possible cause, set your Desktop to the same resolution as CC, i.e. if you have set CC to run at 1024x768, then set your Desktop to 1024x768 16bit colour, BEFORE you launch CC.

I am not sure if refresh rates can have any impact. So far I have not seen any problems reported with that...

Well, I try your suggestion and it didn't work but I note something strange... when I try to change the resolution to 800 x 600 the message - out of syncro - appears.
Maybe it would be a video driver problem?

The default for CC is 800x600 16 bit colour until you change it.

Make sure you do have the latest Video Drivers and DirectX!

when I try to change the resolution to 800 x 600
Do you mean CC or the Desktop?

One way you can get to the CC Options without having to go through the normal startup is by pressing and holding the [Ctrl] ket when you launch CC. You will go straight to the Options...

Thanks a lot Beeblebrox, my CC3 is back! :cool-smil

Initially I'd changed the resolution just on my desktop and it didn't work... them even pressing the Ctrl key, the only thing appears when CC3 begins to start was the damn bouncing message so I cannot even see the option screen but thinking about what you wrote I just activated the TV out and make it works as "clone" so when I tried again I lost the monitor image but it worked well on the TV so I was able to change the resolution by it, changed again back to the last setup and voilà! :speechles

Now it's working well on the PC and I'll try the same solution to make my CC5 works again (as the problem is the same!)

Again, thank you very much for your help!
