Problem Connecting Head To Head

Postby Tex82ndABD » Fri Jul 29, 2005 6:33 pm

I have two PCs with two different IP addresses connected over a wireless LAN and have full installs on CCIV and CCV on both machines. One PC is running Windows XP emulating Windows 98 for both games and one PC running Windows 2000. When I attempt to play in multiplayer mode between the two machines or for that matter against another remote player on a different machine I am able to host a game, but I am unable to join a game using either CCIV or CCV. I have disabled my firewall and disabled auto protect on my antivirus program. Can anybody please tell me what I am doing improperly or suggest things with the configuration to check? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you know the IP address of the hosting machine?

Run dos prompt and type "ipconfig" at the prompt

your IP address will be displayed

Thanks for your reply. I know the IP addresses of both machines. I enter the IP address of the other machine and then search for games. The game appears in the menu. When I either double click on the game or click on the game and then click on join game, nothing happens. Is there anything I can check or test?

Thanks,

Do you have a firewall?

If so make sure the game is cleared

That would be my guess as well. Make sure you have permissions in ALL anti-virus software enabled for CC5. This includes any AV software you may have purchased as well as Windows Firewall.
