The Novorossiysk offensive
Now eqipped with a pair of 7.5cm PaKs. Better still, a Wehrmacht Tiger was available so I was able to upgrade my Wehrmacht Pz IV-G.
Now with 2 Tigers, I can realy inflict some heavy armor losses on the Soviet AI.
It would not have been hard to drive the AI of the 1st map and win the OP without inflicting many AFV kills.
With my goal firmly fixed in my mind, my strategy was to detroy a few AFVs then flee to the 2nd map where I could butcher the soviet armor to my hearts content.
This was not always possible as sometimes one of my Tigers was immobilised.
Not getting enough RP to refit a Tiger crew if they abandon their tank.
Sometimes I could not flee off map1 because some of my troops were engaged and would have been captured (@40RP per day I could ill aford to throw men away)
This 1st screenshot is of the start map of the Soviet offensive (day 8).
This 2nd screenshot is of the 2nd map (where the real damage was done).
With so many wrecks, it became increasingly difficult to get los!
Combined with the firepower of the Tigers and the to and fro
straregy between the 1st 2 maps, I attained a very satisfactory AFV tally in this operation.
Now my Campaign goal appeared much more attainable.
The Gun crews were racking up some excellent stats, not to mention promotions. Note some of these crewmen have been with me for several OPs.
The Tank crews also were amassing quite a reputation. The SS tank crew got their Tiger sooner, but the Wehrmacht crew had been with me a few operations longer.
I apologise for the stuff up in the pic, I was pasting in an open bitmap and it was not in position correctly, doh!
Dont bother viewing attachments below, they are the same pics above.
