Email Notifications From CSO Forums - How to Disable / Enabl

Postby Loz 2 » Sat Mar 21, 2015 8:33 pm

I haven't played cc or been to these forums in years but all of a sudden I'm getting spammed with forum post notifications which I can't disable.

Can you guys stop spamming me and sort your forum software out 'cos this is really annoying.

Thanks.

Hia Loz,

Its very easy, all you have to do id either unsubscribe from the forum you are getting notifications from. [bottom of every forum]. Deactivate you account drom the user menu or ask any mod to deactivate your account.

Deactivate-1.png

Since I switched the email notification on a cpl of weeks ago, I have had a total of 4 people ask to have account disabled/deactivated out of 8500+ users.

You can also as per every msg subscription sent to you, use this link to switch notification OFF.

If you want to change your post notifications settings, click on the following link:
ucp.php?i=boardwatch&mode=boardwatch

I will deactivate your account for you.

Cheers - S

Hia JP,

I have it running on both win 7 and 8! You may need a couple of extras, windows Virtual Machine [java] I have both the old games and the remakes and all apart from CC1-CC2 are fine.

Depending on what you liked best there are enough with CC3 thru to Gateway to Caen to please everyone and even GtC has several mods. There well over 1000+ custom maps and if you check the mod directory you will see hundreds of full blown mods from WW2 East front/Finland/Africa/WW1/Okinawa/Italy/Allied/Commonwealth/Greece/Meuse/Kharkov/RedStormRising/Stalingrad/Berlin/Vietnam/Scorched Earth/Vet Mods/Infantry Mods that's just a few. All have modswap or config manager to easily install mods and map-packs.

We even have the full version of CCM [CC the USMC had built] and CCRAF that the RAF Regt had done. Some are still being worked on, we added a couple more mods this week and more to go up.

Hope you find something ;)

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this game although had given up when I got a new computer. So many great mods. I'll give it a shot with windows 7.

Hey folks,

Wow, it's been a long time. Ironically, I just fired CC3 up for a campaign after about a year of not playing. Anyway, I started getting post notification emails out of the blue a couple of days ago and I can't get them to stop even though my account says.

You have no post notification options available

Is there something an admin needs to do to get those emails to stop going out? I want to remain a lurking member into perpetuity (or when I stop playing Close Combat, whichever comes first), but please make the emails stop.

Thanks,

Logan

I don't appreciate the constant spam either. I cannot turn it off. Please undo this deliberate change. I did not subscribe to any forums or posts. Just by posting this EVERYONE is going to get a notification now.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat (actually, I get the e-mails twice as I have the original e-mail forwarded to my current e-mail).

I don't want to quit closecombat.org by any means - CC is one of the few games that I've played for 20 years. Well that and some NES games...but I digress.

I'm not currently subscribed to any topics, according to my user profile.

I don't want to be unsubscribed either, but I can't be doing with the spam.

Sorry about that. Its very easy to switch off.
ucp.php?i=boardwatch&mode=boardwatch

Use that link, its contained in every message that's sent. As in the message below.

No Mooxe, its not some ploy to bomb people with Spam, its to allow people to subscribe to the board, instead of having to subscribe to each forum, is easily switched off by each user, is in each users control panel as per screen.
