The problems I had dated back to a point around 2001 when my pc virus protection had run out & it got virused very badly. I had various graphical horrors arising from that. I must assume the PSP 7 tga problem dates back to there since before a certain point all was working as it was supposed to.

My apologies for confusing the issue.

As far as I know Paintshop Pro saved 16 bit tga fine up until PSP8. JASC was bought out by COREL shortly after, but to the best of my knowledge did not address the issue in subsequent versions. The zip file is a pdf file that explains the targa format, and the pic shows the 18 bytes of the header (16bit, color, uncompressed). Hope this helps.

cheers

Copy that Yuke. Good to know. Thanks for the plugin as well. Might explain some issues I've had with saving Alpha channels in the past with previous versions.

What happens if you use new files? Do the problems persist?

The tga problem persists until the gadgets are corrected with Rtb tool. That fixes it.

Whenever I save a tga file I always have to use RtB tool to fix the file though.

Actually, I experienced the same problems (Yukongold pointed it out at the time as well), and I also have to go via RtB to solve it. I'v read some posts (CSO or CCS, can't remember) of people with similar issues...
But I still prefer PSP over Paintshop, mainly because of the batch processing functionalities.

Cheers,

Thanks - at least I know I'm not completely mad.
