If you rescale the vehicles to match soldier size, the map scale will be cut in half, plusYoull havbe to change every line of data. In the game to modify the effectiveness of the distance listed in literally hundreds of columns.

Otherwise your LOS will be screwed up.

yeah, we know the issue, so the rescaling is rather a sort of compromise and mostly considers the size of buildings (not so much of the except Cassino) and roads just to much the size of tanks and soldiers. actually it's a small deception, but we hope that players
will not pay that much attention to the extreme accuracies to the real battlefield ;) .
unf. we cannot omitt the hardcoding. we also plan to modify the data condidering the issue (just where it is necessary) , and that's a huge work, that right.

anyways, that's still a sort of experiment, so we'll see. we still have smaller vehicles as a backup, but the curent ones are a whole highway better.

the other thing is that in the realistic version of the mod there will be few vehicles so the problem is not of a major issue considering the whole mod idea.

cheers.

Thanks for the update Boobazzz,

I'm sure I speak for all when I say we wish you nothing but luck on the progress and hope that things move along good for the team.

This is probably gonna be the biggest thing for CCIV in years.

UberDave, Axreal joined the RN? Sneaky bugger, good luck to him then and all the best, wondered where he got to.

There were some folks asking about news on Monte Cassino, so I offered to inquire at the Polish Strategy Fans Forum.

Good news. Here is my reply from boobazzz

Hello yukongold,

Glad to read from you! Be our guest and feel free to pass any info u like
Unf. at the moment we are undergoing a sort of reorganisation of the project as it experienced some hard time due to the server crash. Anyways, we're still alive and focused on it

best regards,

Hello again!

Long time no hear...

I feel obliged to inform you that our project suffered from the second crash of our HQ (forums) servers, thank god this time no data loss, but to be honest it took some time to restore it and I am not sure if the crew of ours is still there to complete the task.

There was a lot of work done already, so that would be quite a shame to quit it for good. We'll see in the near future. If it fails eventually, there's still an option we could make a sort of repository of data to be used for enyone willing to finish the project. It is, IMHO, really worth it due to the multinational dimention of the Cassino battles, which gives very interesting prospects for possible further submods.

Anyways, I'll keep you informed.

best regards,
b.

Sorry to hear about the crash,I always thought the mod looked really nice especially the new strat map.
Just out of curiosity what files have been completed?
Or if the list is shorter what still needs to be done?

In any event thatnks for the update.

Anyone know what ever happened to this?
Do they have a site running anymore?

Second that thought. Even the data that they had done so that one of the other mod makers could possibly use to finish it they have real life situations in front of them now.

Obviously the Main part of the Church itself it isn't right, but the winding road leading up to it, buildings representing the small town that existed below are there.

This is the Fort Roul map. Something that could be used/adapted perhaps for a pre bombardment?

We Will have to find out what happened!, Damn would be shame to lose this!

I also got this via email today! This one is finished but never uploaded!

" I do have a mod I made for CCV based on the old commando war mod for CC3. Maybe you would like to put it on your site? " The Commando mod was pretty good fun!

Who would know more about contacting anyone on Monte Cassino team?

A Google search shows me nothing.
Not one single image
It's a shame I didn't save some of the few things they had uploaded many years ago.
I had seen a few maps, the strategic map and some vehicles.
Your talking 9 years ago.
it'd be hard to believe if it was never released that any files are still alive.

They did some very top of the line work.
Right up there with Mouch and Leur.
