Is anyone interested in a Civil War thread? Maybe some trivia questions
would be fun too. :confused-

Let's start this up anyway. 1st correct answer goes next ;) .

Everyone knows Lt.General Thomas J Jackson's nickname was 'Stonewall', but
his cousin, Maj General William L Jackson had one too. What was it? :confused-

Stonewall's cousin, Major General William L. Jackson's nickname was........

'Mudwall', not quite as cool as 'Stonewall' :) .

Next question: What were the 3 New York regiments of the Irish Brigade?

If that's Meaghers brigade I guess its the 63rd, 69th and 88th NY Regiments.

There was another out of state regiment in it too, can't recall now if it was a Maryland or Pennsylvania regiment.

Interesting to note that it's estimated around 150,000 Irishmen fought for the Union and 50,000 for the Confederacy, sometimes tragically facing each other.

Yep :) , Joe had so many young 'ladies' around his Headquaters the soldiers referred to them as .....Hookers girls, this was subsequently shortened to Hookers, adding his name to the English language and thereby 'living' on when other more able commanders have been forgotten.

Happy New Year D#c%

Hmmm, the question seems a little too vague. So to make it more specific.

The 3 Union commander's all had particular regiments under their commands that no Confederate commander would have had (though some have contested this).
