Hauptmann, Kruger and me have begun to make a new mod for Close Combat V about the besieging of Budapest in 1944-1945.
We need the maps and photos of Budapest from this period of time. We have roughly order of battle of the German and Hungarian troops, but we have not the detailed OoB of the Soviet and Romanian troops. We gather the informations about various weapons and equipment used by the opponents during this battle. We are also looking for somebody who could record Romanian battle screams. We plan to add the Romanians in new submod, because there can be three different voices in this game (Hungarian, Russian and German). Everybody can join our team. We have Hungarian sounds almost completed. Last edited by El Comendante; 22nd April 2004 at 10:30 PM. |

Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Barbarossa has lots of voices and weapon sounds for Hungarian, Russian, Romanian, Finnish, Italian, and German troops.
Let me know the specifics and I will provide. Last edited by Uberdave; 23rd April 2004 at 12:41 AM. |

Good to hear, I love the battles of the Eastern Front. Will this mod entail a certain month of the battles around Budapest like the encirclement, the German Counter-Offensive in 1945 or both?

You know, its a problem, because there is a limit of the maps in Close Combat, so we decided to make a mod about the fights in the city only. Perharps we will need a graphician, because we do the first steps in the graphic programs. We want to avoid such a situation how in Red Storm Rising mod - there were no new maps and the maps for this mod have NOTHING common with the terrain in post-war Germany. For example there are too many bocages, hedges and too little urban terrains. No offense of course

This mod its only for fighting Allied and Axis troops in the siege of Budapest. Possibly, one operation for hipotetical situation - success of IV SS Armoured Corps which arrives to Budapest.

If you don't mind the help of another Hungarian...
1. 17. SS Cavalry Regiment became a part of the 22. SS Cavalry Div. in may, 1944.; renamed 54. SS Cavalry Regiment (so these SS Cavalry Divisions had only three cav regiments each). 2. About those things you wrote about 13. Panzer Div. After 1943 German mechanised infantry was called panzergrenadiers, and infantry was called grenadiers (there were some schützen regiments also). In the panzer divs ther were no infantry brigades after 1943, and motorcycle units were found in armoured recon battalions, if there were not enough armoured vehicles (there weren't). If you need help, just tell me, because as I see there are other mistakes in the OOB; and some problems with Hungarian spelling. I'll look after exact info about these things.
